Swimming- PJs next weeks16 June 2025 (by holyfamily) |
This week is National Drowning Prevention Week. As part of this initiative, next weeks swimming lessons will focus on water safety and self-rescue techniques. Here are some key points for the week:
- Children should wear clothes such as shorts and a t-shirt or pajamas over their regular swimming costumes (no fluffy clothes, onesies, or oodies).
- Goggles are not allowed on this day as we are teaching children how to stay safe in environments where they might not have them.
- Activities will include jumping into deep or deeper water.
- Your designated swimming teachers will be in the water to ensure safety.
To maximize the learning experience, we ask that children wear clothes over their swimming costumes. This will help them understand the sensation of swimming with wet, heavy clothing in a controlled environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate to both the school and parents/carers the valuable skills children learn during swimming lessons.
Please could children bring PJs with them next week to wear over their swimming costume.
